11. Globalization of Psychedelics Psychedelics were not isolated to solely specific regions, but rather was an integrated part of nearly every civilization across the world. One thing that is very intriguing is the idea that a simple picture of a type of handbag that is found in civilizations across the entire world, was actually a depiction of a 'drug bag'. Seen being held by Mexico's Quetzalcoatl, carved into Egyptian pillars and monuments, as well as being seen depicted on Aztec and Maya statues and altars. Graham Hancock believes that these possible 'bags' and the fact that they show up all over the world has a much deeper meaning to the influence that psychedelics had on ancient civilizations.
